Title X and PA Representatives Info

Founded in 1970, Title X is the only federally funded grant program that ensures comprehensive family planning and reproductive health services are accessible for all. Title X is especially important in making family planning and related health care services accessible to millions of low-income and underinsured individuals – the overwhelming majority of whom are communities of color.

Title X is essential for FHCCP and its partnering providers to make the following family planning and reproductive health services accessible to clients:

• Contraceptive education, counseling and methods
• Pre-conception health and achieving pregnancy (includes infertility services; STI prevention, education, screening and treatment; and HIV testing and referrals)
• Pregnancy testing and counseling

While Title X works to help many individuals better their lives and take control of their health, it’s been attacked many times by political rulings which aim to cut its budget or limit the services it provides to patients. Underfunding or limiting the abilities of Title X could bring a devastating loss of family planning and reproductive health services to FHCCP clients in Pennsylvania and millions of individuals nationwide.
