STD Testing
Treatment and Screening Programs
The Family Health Council of Central PA, Inc. (FHCCP), provides support to a variety of stakeholders and community partners that share a common goal of reducing the spread of STD’s in Pennsylvania. We work with our partners to provide services for clients who may have, or have been, exposed to a sexually transmitted disease (STD) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that undiagnosed STDs cause 24,000 women to become infertile each year. The primary focus of the FHCCP’s STD program is the prevention of chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV and HPV.
The Family Health Council of Central PA, Inc. supports Title X partners to offer quality STD care through training, site-visits and resource sharing. These activities help Title X service providers to follow current STD testing guidelines and to meet state and federal data collection requirements. FHCCP works in close partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Title X service providers to implement best practices in STD prevention statewide. Through funding from PA Department of Health, PA Department of Human Services and Title X funding we continue to support clients who may require counseling, screening exams and/or treatment. All services are confidential and delivered as part of a patient-centered care model.
